Amboy, California — Once a quiet stop on Route 66, Amboy carries the layered traces of American road culture: a weathered yet preserved motel, a neon sign that still lights up the night for travelers, and the salt-crusted landscape of the Mojave that frames every photograph with stark clarity. Our recent series focuses on this juxtaposition of human imprint and relentless desert: abandoned storefronts softened by golden-hour light, cracked pavement patterns in the sand, and interiors that curl away with he passing of time. 

I arrived and explored in a way that prioritized natural light and authentic moments over staged perfection. The result is a body of work that highlights texture and silence in its present day form.  Walking through Amboy as quietly as it remained, preserving the dignity of the community and its stories.
